The Yas Marina Circuit, which hosts the annual Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, is located in this island. But not only does the island host racing events, it’s also home to several entertainment options to choose from:
Yas Waterworld – has more than 40 rides, slides, and attractions, including Bubble’s Barrel, which has the largest surfable sheet wave for flowboards and bodyboards in the world.
Yas Links – an award-winning golf course.
Yas Beach – located on the island’s southern shores.
By 2020, the island will also be home to SeaWorld Abu Dhabi, which will be the first not to feature orcas.
This the first Ferrari-branded theme park in the world. You can learn about the history of the brand through more than 20 educational rides and attractions. Among these is Formula Rossa, the fastest roller coaster in the world. In addition, the theme park also features interactive shopping and an authentic Italian dining experience.
The Louvre Abu Dhabi is the result of the collaboration between the city and the French government. Located on the Saadiyat Island Cultural District, this art and civilization museum features its own collections and those that have been loaned by the Agence France-Museums and the Musee de Louvre.
While it does bear the name Louvre, it is in no way a copy of the museum in France. It offers its own interpretation of universal history that reflects the era and the traditions of the UAE. In its collection are works from just about every medium, including sculpture, paintings, and even photography.
Located near Ferrari World and Yas Waterworld, this entertainment complex is a recent opening on the island (it opened last July 25, 2018). It is the third Warner Brothers theme park, and it features six themed lands: Bedrock, Cartoon Junction, Dynamite Gulch, Gotham City, Metropolis, and Warner Brothers Plaza.
Sheikh Zayed Mosque
This is one of the few mosques in the region that opens its doors to non-Muslims to have a tour of this magnificent mosque. And it’s not a structure you should miss either. It can be seen from each of the bridges that connects Abu Dhabi to the mainland. The sight is truly stunning: its 80 marble domes are enough to make your jaw drop. It truly a masterpiece and a must-see.
There’s certainly more to Abu Dhabi than just the five wonders listed here. It is a city well worth exploring, which you can when you avail of Abu Dhabi holiday packages.
